Most of us hate to fail. I know I do. Or at least I did, until I self-healed it and started to look at failure from a different perspective. :)
Nevertheless, it's completely understandable why most of us hate, resent or fear failure. Who has ever felt great after failing to do, have or become something, right? It's not easy to accept that something just didn't work out, "after all the hard work" you put into it!
What if I tell you that there's a way to be fail-safe? That there's a way to make sure you can never fail (hint: the answer is in this sentence!)? Would you like to know what it is?
This blog post is greatly inspired by another one of my favorite books, "A Happy Pocket Full of Money" by David Cameron Gikandi. There's an entire chapter that speaks about what he refers to as "the most powerful antidote to failure." And I would like to share it with you, because I know we can all use a dose of this!
Ready?
Faith. Belief. That's how most of us know it. But David's book used a word that gives it the "oomph".
CERTAINTY.
Anything and everything is possible to the extent that you are certain. We’ve heard this truth in many different forms. We hear “faith can move mountains” or “there can be miracles when you believe” (wait, that’s a song!). Certainty is a state of BEING. You cannot DO certain or THINK certain, you can only BE certain.
Imagine you go to a restaurant and order your food, you don’t become all giddy and panicky while you wait for your order, do you? You know the food is going to come. Or when you are eating and you take a bite of your food, the thought “Oh my gosh, is the food going to be chewed?!” doesn’t even cross your mind. Or when you are typing in your computer, you don’t even stop to think, “Wait, if I press the ‘A’ key, what if ‘B’ comes out?”
Those could be silly examples, but the point is, it is THAT level of certainty that is guaranteed to bring about what you want in your life. If you are that certain about yourself, God and the universe, you will never ever fail.
What Stops You From Being Certain?
In my all-time favorite book, Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch, God says that “The opposite of love is not hatred, but FEAR.” I am a total believer of that. Think about it. The things we do in life, we do either out of fear or out of love. Every other emotion in between stems from those two main feelings. You would either go after something you really love, or go after something to avoid what you fear.
Funnily enough, many of us fear the very thing (or person) we love! Oh, we come up with all the excuses why we don’t have what we say we want. What it all comes down to is that we are being enveloped by the main enemies of our dreams and visions, which are:

- Worry. CWG says it is the worst form of mental activity. Worry is “wasted mental energy.” It is harmful to your body to the point that it may even cause diseases. Most of the time, our worries are just illusions in our mind! How many times have you ever said “It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be”?
- Doubt. Doubt is produced when the things you worry about becomes a program in your mind. When you continually worry about something, you build your doubt towards it.
- Fear. Fear is worry and doubt magnified. As mentioned earlier, it is also the opposite of love. When you fear something, you freeze. You find all the reasons to NOT do anything.
FEAR has been popularly defined to be “False Expectations Appearing Real”. Ironically, fear attracts that which we fear, because it puts you in the place of knowing (recognizing to be true) what you fear.
Remember: you can NEVER be certain when you have thoughts of worry, doubt or fear.
How To Remove Thoughts of Worry, Doubt and Fear
- Choose and decide to remove these thoughts. Mind your mind. Be conscious of the thoughts you entertain and keep. Soon enough, you'll find it's second nature to be able to filter out these thoughts.
- Accept the thoughts, but do not embrace them. Acknowledge the thought when it comes to you and see it for what it is. Accepting the thought is the only way you can know whether or not it serves you and eventually release it.
- Discourage, but do not resist. Once you realize you are thinking thoughts of worry, doubt and fear, you can stop them dead in their tracks. However, remember that what you resist persists. So stop the thoughts, but do not allow them to go further only for you to have to fight it.
- Watch, but do not attach. Understand where these thoughts came from and how it serves you to keep them. Be mindful that you don't get attached to the reasons you find - meaning, observe the thoughts "from afar" instead of mulling over and investing more emotions.
- Be persistent! Even when everything seems to be pointing the other way. Even if all evidence seem contrary. Persistence is a conscious decision and action. Persistence produces faith, and faith produces persistence. It's a simple yet powerful cycle.
All the opportunities, resources, circumstances and even abilities that you have right now are unlimited. The only limit is how much you believe in it.
When you are certain, you will know without a shred of doubt that before you even ask, IT IS ALREADY GIVEN. This level of faith moves the universal forces around to "conspire" and bring to you what you desire in the highest and best way. And when that happens, you do not see it as a "reward" but as a birthright. You would say to yourself, "OF COURSE it's gonna happen!"
